DWUS has come up now with their own identified and exclusive brand of products under the name “IN-ECOLIBRIUM” to reflect the true nature of their initiatives: that of sustainable development for man and the ecology.

Starting way back in 1998 on the path to promotion of Organic Farming and production. Supported by the Spices Board of India and with initial projects of the DWUS being promoted by the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation (New Delhi), the DWUS took up the organic challenge.

A lesson learned first in the classroom and later in the fields, mobilizing illiterate farmers was no easy task, but with a view to secure our state’s presence in the ever-growing and ethically correct Organic Sector, the Destitute Women’s Upliftment Society’s pathfinding initiatives have now grown from an isolated awareness generation program with 25 bored farmers listening to a dreary lecture, to the present, where enthusiastic farmers from all over are flooding us with queries and eagerness to take up the organic path.

DWUS stands for the upliftment of Tribal groups and Underprivileged sections. A major portion of the earning is pumped back in further developmental activities. These tribal groups are fresh and pure like the “Lotus”, having not been exposed to artificial methods of cultivation. Rather they strictly adhere to the ’Laws of Nature’ by practicing traditional methods of cultivation. These tribal groups are situated in the jungle and semi-jungle parts of Manipur which are TOTALLY FREE FROM ANY SORT OF INDUSTRIES AND CONTAMINATION.
